Escape! Flee! for Horn Quartet by Christine Richardson

Composer's note:

This piece was originally composed as an orchestral chase scene for a classic hero vs. villain film. (It was an assignment for a class.) At first I hated writing music for the dark, violent scenes, but as I figured out how to time the dissonant chords with the crash scenes, I began to enjoy the work. I relished the assignment so much that I wrote a full-length orchestral piece and the "love" theme was added to the piece. Then I re-wrote the piece, and changed the name slightly for this horn quartet.
